After discovering her first copy of an Edible publication in her mid-forties, Laurie Hepworth finally realized what she wanted to be when she ‘grew up’–the co-publisher of a magazine focusing on local foods within her own community of Southeastern Massachusetts.
After successfully publishing eSS&SC with partner and co-publisher Michael Hart for three years, yet feeling like edible South Shore & South Coast hadn’t even made a small ripple in the pool of stories to cover, the idea of the Blog bubbled up.
This blog is an offshoot of the eSS&SC printed magazine and website, yet with the same mission: to celebrate the abundance of local food in Southeastern Massachusetts. Intending to keep culinary consciousness on the mind of our readers between the quarterly issues, we blog as often as we have contributions.
After several years of nurturing, the blog has now taken on a life of its own. It is casual and conversational and often opinionated. With little input from us, our writers choose topics at their discretion (it’s more interesting this way, don’t you think?) and are writing for the love of the subject, not for money.
We consider this blog to be a CSB—Community Supported Blog—and we encourage contributions: blog posts, comments, feedback.
