The Pumpkin Harvest

It’s official, fall is here. And, with fall comes the harvest. This morning, when I awoke bleary-eyed from the Island Creek Oyster Fest (more on that to come), my uncle let me know that a Bobcat was coming to haul his pumpkins to the front of the house for display.

I had been worried the rain would claim the pumpkins, but only one fell victim:

When we arrived, the harvest was in full swing.

Here is the one that will off to the Topsfield Fair at the end of the month:

So, does anyone have good pumpkin recipes? I have a feeling we’ll need them in the coming weeks…
