SweetWorks in North Attleboro, MA is a blend of all things good: part cupcake shop, part ice cream parlor, part breakfast diner; you are sure to find something to fit your taste buds at this locally owned business.
Tobey prides his restaurant on having an exceptional staff and is happy with his own, hands-on participation in his business. “Owner visibility” he says, “is one of the many things that sets us apart from other restaurants of our kind.” Tobey is in the shop everyday with his employees baking, talking to the customers, and brainstorming ways to improve the restaurant.
Tobey has been around the kitchen all of his life, attending a vocational program in high school that specialized in culinary arts and then continuing his culinary education at Johnson and Wales University.
SweetWorks boasts seating for 15 people, 24 flavors of ice cream and over 30 flavors of cupcakes (there are always at least 8 flavors available). Some sundae’s they offer include the “Caramel Apple Granny,” a combination of warm apple pie, ice cream (whatever flavor you want), whipped cream, caramel, and cinnamon streusel topping, and the “North Attleboro Red Rocketeer,” an eight scoop sundae with all the fixings! Finishing this fifteen dollar sundae monstrosity will put you on the “wall of fame.” Cupcake flavors include the classics such as chocolate and vanilla as well as some more creative innovations including red velvet and lemon cream pie.
SweetWorks opened its doors selling primarily ice cream from Bliss Brothers, a local dairy that makes their own ice cream out of local dairy products. When the summer months ended, Tobey decided to add cupcakes and breakfast items to keep sales up through the cold weather. Their homemade cupcakes and breakfast items have been a huge hit. They also offer “cake balls” and catering for special occasions. Stop by to conquer you dessert cravings or start your day with something right off the grill.
